Press Release:

Wonderful New Years news!

Many readers of this Press Release all over the world will remember the happy days when the German Open Championships (GOC) in Mannheim was part of the World Series of the World Dance & Dance Sport Council (WDDSC) - the absolute ultimate series of events anywhere in the Dance Sport world.

The organisers of the GOC and the WDDSC are absolutely delighted to announce that once again from this year, i.e. 2006, the German Open Championships in Stuttgart will once again be part of the WDDSC World Series family both in the professional ballroom and latin styles. This means that the new World Series of events will be as follows:

United Kingdom Championships, Bournemouth, England (January)
Asian Open and Ranking Awards, Tokyo, Japan (February)
British Open to the World Championships, Blackpool, England (May)
Feinda Open Championships, Cervia, Italy (June)
German Open Championships, Stuttgart, Germany (August)
United States Open Championships, Florida, USA (September)
International Championships, Royal Albert Hall, London, England (October)
Dutch Open Championships, Assen, Holland (November)
World Masters, Innsbruck, Austria (November)

This momentous development follows months of negotiations between the organisers, the DTV and the WDDSC and heralds a new era of co-operation between amateurs and professionals to set an example for the rest of the world to follow. Furthermore, competitors of the highest quality and calibre can now be even more assured that their performance on the floor will be matched by the quality and integrity of the adjudicating panels who will be marking them. The most rigorous standards and ethics will be implemented.

The GOC organisers as well as the DTV, the DPV and the WDDSC look forward to welcoming the world` s greatest dancesport competitors this year to one of the world` s greatest dance sport events!
