79 couples participated in the WDSF International Open Latin tournament on the third day of the 42th edition of the "Blaue Band der Spree" event. 79 couples participated in the WDSF International Open Latin tournament on the third day of the 42th edition of the "Blaue Band der Spree" event. Four German couples made it to the semi final: Kirill Ganapolskyy/Kim Pätzug placed 9th, Sergiu Maruster/Anna Grozea 10th. Jan Dvoracek/Malika Dzumaeva, who were 3rd at the German Championship, and Artur Balandin/Anna Salita, who were 6th at the German Championship, reached the final together with two Russian couples, one Polish and one Lithuanian couple.
Armen Tsaturyan/Svetlana Gudyno, who are currently leading the world rankings ahead of the reigning world champions showed their full potential and were rewarded with a lot of applause and an "all ones" score. A lot of applause and support were also given to Jan Dvoracek/Malika Dzumaeva, who finished 2nd ahead of Aldaev/Polukhina. Balandin/Salita were able to outscore the Polish couple in the final and finished 5th.
