With a standing ovation the approx. 2.500 spectatots in the Hisense Arena in Melbourne (Australia) rewarded the six finalists and the World Champions. 13 hours lay between the beginning of the first round and the last dance of the final.
Benedetto Ferruggia / Claudia Köhler (TSC Astoria Stuttgart) won back the title with an absolutely convincing performance. The two-times World Champions from 2009 and 2010 had been defeated by Emanuel Valeri / Tania Kehlet from Denmark last year. This time, they showed an outstanding performance and clearly won all five dances, thus beating Valeri/Kehlet into second place.
Simone Segatori / Annette Sudol (TSC Astoria Stuttgart) successfully defended the bronze medal, participating in the World Championship Standard final for the sixth time in a row.
