It was an important highlight in the dancing career of Gert Faustmann/Alexandra Kley: They won the bronze medal at the World Championships Seniors II Standard and were extremely happy.  237 couples had competed at these open World Championships in Rimini, Italy. Consequently, the rounds lasted very long and required lots of strength and nerves.  The final was finished at 1am and the couple from Berlin could stand on the winner's podium with big smiles and together with the two Italian couples Bernardini/Martellini and Bellometti/Pini. Two more German couples reached the semi-final with 14 couples: Christian Holderried/Daniela Säuerle-Holderied (10) and Knut and Antje Wichmann (14). Following couples reached the quarter final: Peter and Miriam Pfeiffer (17.), René and Heike Seyboth (20. get.), Patrick and Sabrina van der Meer (25.) as well as Konstantin and Corina Maletz (27.). German couples of the last 52: Andreas und Christine Malik (42. get.) und Norbert Jäger/Beate Christine Jäger-Eberhardt (52.).
