The reigning World Champions and German Champions, Sabine and Tassilo Lax, put themselves on top of the international field of 143 couples in the Senior I Standard tournament. Stefania Martelleini/Stefano Bernardini, runners-up to the World Champions, reached the second place. Pierre Payen/Isabelle Reyjal from France finished third.
