With a big gala ball at the Maritim Hotel Stauffenbergstraße in Berlin, the German Dancesport Association celebrated "100 years of dancesport in Germany" with hundreds of guests and over 230 contributors. Host Joachim Llambi presented many World, European and German champions of their respective disciplines.

The varied program offered new facets even to experienced dance athletes and successfully and impressively proved how diverse the dancesport in Germany is. 100 years ago, the first dance competition took place on German soil at the Admiralspalast in Berlin.

During the reception prior to the start of the ball, LSB honorary president Peter Hanisch held a laudatory speech and decorated the totally surprised DTV president Franz Allert with the DTV Gold Badge of Honour.
