Results from Blackpool

About 200 couples started in the Senior Standard tournament of the British Open Championship in the Winter Garden of Blackpool, among them the world and vice world champions. Patrick & Sabrina van der Meer reached the round of 24 and finished 15th. Jörg & Ute Hillenbrand were the second best German couple and were rewarded with the 7th place in their first Blackpool final. The victory was refused to world champions Tassilo & Sabine Lax; they had to defer to Marcello Daga/Marina Pau and finished 2nd.

In the Senior Latin tournament, three German couples were in the final: The new couple Stefan Leschke/Leila Kessler from Berlin prevailed and reached the 2nd place after the winners Petri & Ulla Jarvonen from Finland. The prior-year winners Andreas Hoffmann/Isabel Krüger were ranked 3rd. AS the third-best German couple, Meik & Bianca Sauer reached the 7th place in their first Blackpool final. Michael & Claudia Sawang reached the semi final.

Under 21 Standard: Anatoliy Novoselov/Tasja Schulz reached the quarter final and finished with the split 15th place.

Ivo Lodesani/Cathrin Hißnauer reached the quarter final of the Blackpool Amateurs Ballroom and were ranked 18th.
