Eagerly awaited was the presentation of the Russian team Vera Tjumen, who were not seen at the World Champi-onship at Kishinev (Moldova) two weeks ago. With noisy support of their audience, the team presented itself in excellent condition and got the European Champion title. Behind them were the world champions Kodryanca Ki-shinev , probably for the last time on the international stage. Following the unfavourable outcome in the prelims for 1. TC Ludwigsburg the team never restored their usual confidence and uniformity as they would have needed it to beat Moldova, as German sports director Michael Eichert concluded, the more so as one dress did not arrive in time at the venue, so that one dancer had to present in her training dress, and a shoe got lost in the prelims.

The second German team of Braunschweiger TSC had to settle for rank five, deferring to the team from Poland.
Entering the competition were 14 teams at the European Championships Formation Standard at the Olympic Sta-dium Lushniki Sports Palace in Moscow.
